The District warmly welcomes new middle school principal, Mr. Matthew Barr.  Mr. Barr will begin his career at Dallas on Monday, March 16, 2026 and is enthusiastically looking forward to leading DMS.  Mr. Barr grew up in Chambersburg, PA and is a proud graduate of West Chester University where he majored in Middle Grades Education with a concentration in Mathematics and Science. He spent several years teaching both math and science in and around the Philadelphia area and serving as a Math Lead in The School District of Philadelphia.

Mr. Barr attained his master’s degree in Educational Leadership along with his Principal Certification from Drexel University and served in the roles of Assistant High School and Assistant Middle School Principal in the Western Wayne School District prior to joining the Dallas School District. He looks forward to this opportunity to work with a dedicated staff and outstanding student body as a Mountaineer.

Mr. Barr enjoys golfing, skiing and spending time down the shore. He resides in Clarks Summit with his wife and their three children.
