Middle School Principal Retirement

Families of Dallas Middle School,

It is with great gratitude and admiration that we wish Mr. Jeffrey Shaffer well on his retirement from Dallas.  Mr. Shaffer served the district in several capacities, most notably as principal of the Dallas Middle School for the better part of a decade. On behalf of the Dallas School district, we would like to extend all the best to Mr. Shaffer and his family, as well as congratulate him for such an impactful career.

Currently, the district is in the process of seeking the next principal of the middle school. The recruit and hire process will be thorough and exhaustive to ensure we select a candidate with a similarly aligned commitment to high standards.  In the interim, I will serve in the role of building leader – assisting with all summer planning items.  Based on past personal experience, I fully understand the various aspects that come with opening and running a middle school setting.  I’m looking forward to supporting the hiring process, assisting in transitioning to the new principal, becoming entrenched in the building atmosphere, and helping to provide the positive experience students and families expect to receive at that level.

As you prepare for the start of the 2024-2025 school year this summer, questions and necessary communication may arise.  Know that effective July 1, I will serve as the administrative single point of contact for Dallas Middle School matters.  Please contact the middle school office as needed throughout the summer, as I look forward to assisting parents and families with any school preparation needs.

In the meantime, enjoy the rest of your summer!

Sincerely,

Jacob Sholtis,

Director of Operations
