The Dallas School District has student food service available for breakfast and lunch in each school’s cafeteria.

Each cafeteria meets the strict federal nutrition standards for school meals, ensuring they are healthy and well balanced to provide students all the nutrition they need to succeed at school.

Free and Reduced Meal Programs

The Dallas School District offers healthy meals every day. Breakfast costs $1.40 for elementary and middle school and $1.50 for high school. Lunch costs $2.55 for elementary, $2.65 middle school, and $2.80 high school. If your child(ren) qualify for reduced-price meals, breakfast is $0.30 and lunch is $0.40. Free and Reduced Lunch can be applied for online though schoolcafe.com (blue button below). Parents and families are encouraged to complete the application annually or as circumstances change.

Free and Reduced Lunch Application is Now Available Online

All parents and families, regardless of past qualifications determinations, should complete the Free and Reduced Lunch Application ONLINE in preparation for the 2024-2025 school year.  Using the SCHOOL CAFE APP, log on or create an account and complete the application.  

In addition to increasing efficiency and confidentiality, completing the Free and Reduced Lunch Application using the SCHOOL CAFE APP allows you to utilize all SCHOOL CAFE APP features throughout the year!

Summer Meal Program

The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) is a federally-funded, state-administered program. Local operators serve free healthy meals and snacks to children and teens during the summer months.
