DSD Safety Update

Please be mindful of the following updates with regard to safety. Should you have any questions, feel free to contact your respective building principal.

The FBI has recently seen an uptick in “swatting” events and communications in the United States. Swatting is a criminal act related to schools and other institutions during which an individual calls 911, not the school, to report a fake emergency at that location. This in turn would cause a rapid response of emergency and first responders to that location. These portrayed emergencies are a hoax. The intent of swatting is to create disruption, fear, and panic. The DSD continues to collaborate with Dallas Twp. Police to review our response in the event of a potential swatting call related to our campus.
In order to continue fostering a safe environment at campus athletic events, please be mindful of the following with regard to the multipurpose stadium. Parents are asked to accompany all K-8 grade students to events. Students must remain in the stadium and are not permitted to be anywhere else on campus during stadium events.
As a reminder, the district utilizes the Raptor visitor check in system for individuals who enter all of our schools. Please remember to bring a photo ID when visiting the campus.

Thank you for your attention to these matters as we continue to evolve our safety procedures.
